In today’s day and age, we can instantly get groceries or takeout delivered right to our doorstep in a matter of an hour through apps like Doordash, Uber Eats and Instacart; it recently got me wondering how does this affect the everyday consumer’s perception of receiving their orders when it comes to online shopping.
By now, it’s safe to say almost everybody is familiar with the powerhouse Amazon and the benefits that come with being a “prime” member. For instance, when shopping through Amazon and selecting prime delivery, you are now able to not only receive your order “next day” but even as soon as “same day delivery” with certain items at little to no cost. Now, I think we can agree that this is beneficial when it comes to last minute shopping/necessities but I find that this can also be a misconception when shopping with small businesses online.
Here at the State Of Flux, similar to most small businesses, we are very hands on when it comes to the everyday ins and outs of the business. Being a small team of four, we all take part and make up the fulfillment team. We process, package and ship out all orders first thing every morning (this is honestly the first thing we do after opening our retail doors everyday). Oftentimes, all orders placed throughout the night will be processed and shipped out by us the very next day (with the exception of Monday’s because our store is closed that day). And believe it or not, orders that even come in before noon most likely end up being shipped out that same day by us.
With being a small business, we truly appreciate each and every online order that is placed and try our best at fulfilling all orders in a timely manner. And although we are not quite a powerhouse like Amazon and able to guarantee next day delivery, you are directly supporting us, State Of Flux, with every purchase. And just like myself, I know there’s other folks out there that get overly excited and can’t wait for their online orders to arrive… all that we ask is for you to bear with us as we fulfill your orders as best we can. With that being said, your ongoing support and patience is truly appreciated. We can’t thank you enough!
